Who I am Makes A Difference

A teacher in New York decided to honor each of her seniors in High School by telling them the difference each of them had made. She called each students to the front of the class, one at a time. First, she told each of them how they had made a difference to her and, the class. Then she presented each of them with a blue ribbon, imprinted with gold letters, which reads,  "Who I am Makes A Difference."

Afterward the teacher decided to do a class project, to see what kind of impact recognition would have on a Community. She gave each students three more blue ribbons, and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony. Then they were to follow up on the results, see who honored whom, and report to the class in about a week.

Ten things we waste

1. Knowledge
Wasted by not taking action with it

2. Actions
Wasted by committing them without sincerity.

3. Wealth
Wasted by using on things that will not bring us rewarded (from God).
We waste our money, our status, our authority, on things which have no benefit
in this life or in hereafter.

4. Hearts
Wasted because they are empty from the love of God, and
the feeling of longing to go to Him, and a feeling of peace and contentment.
In it's place, our hearts are filled with something or someone else.

5. Bodies
Wasted because we don't use them in worship
and service of Him.

6. Love
Our emotional love is wasted/misdirected, not towards God,
but towards something or someone else.

7. Time
Wasted, not used properly, to compensate for that which has passed,
by doing what is righteous to make up for past deeds.

8. Intellect
Wasted on things that are not beneficial,
that are detrimental to society and the individual,
not in contemplation or reflection.

9. Service
Wasted in service of someone who will not bring us closer to God,
or benefit in this world.

10. Remembrance
(of the Creator of the universe)
Wasted, because it does not effect us or our hearts.

NOTE: A lessons told by Imam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah who is known as 'the scholar of the heart,' I took this as an open reminder and worthy tips to be shared. Isn't that all reality of life? I whispered quietly to myself.

Perfect Woman

One afternoon, a young man and his friend were sitting in a cafe, drinking tea and talking about life and love.
His friend asked: 'How come you never married?'

'Well,' said the young man, 'to tell you the truth, I spent my youth looking for the perfect woman. In Cairo I met a beautiful and intelligent woman, but she was unkind. Then in Baghdad, I met a woman who was a wonderful and generous soul, but we had no common interests.

One woman after another would seem just right, but there would always be something missing. Then, one day, I met her. Beautiful, intelligent, generous and kind. We had very much in common.
In fact, she was perfect!'

'What happened?' his friend said, 'Why didn’t you marry her?'

He sipped his tea reflectively.
'Well,' he replied,
'it’s really the sad story of my life

....

It seemed she was looking for the perfect man…'

And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. [30:21]

NOTE: I made this entry basically based on one of a friend, who posted it on her notes sections to be shared. I have never actually asked her where she came about to this kind of story but it's uplifting my heart instantly. Though short, it's perfectly written and come with a huge impact. Thanks Am for bringing up such a good impression for the least...of a woman.

4 things make sustenance come to you freely:
    • Standing up at night to pray
    • Making repentance late in the night

    • And remembering your Creator in the first and last part of the day

4 things prevent sustenance from coming to you:
    • Sleeping in the morning
    • Not praying frequently
    • Laziness
    • And treachery (dishonesty)

4 things weaken one’s mind and understanding:
    • Constantly eating our sour foods and fruit
    • Sleeping on one’s back
    • Worrying
    • And feeling anxious

4 things help one to improve one’s understanding:
    • Having a light heart
    • Not overfilling oneself with food and drink
    • Adding sweet and rich foods in moderation to one’s diet
    • And getting rid of extra body fat

NOTE: Extracted from the book 'Don’t be Sad' by Aidth ibn Abdullah al-Qarni. Though the book discussed mainly about attaining happiness in an Islamic point of view, I, in the other hand comprehend my views that the book could easily be applied to all system of belief.

    I am nobody. Happy?

    I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – Too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
    Don’t tell! They’d advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
    How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June —
    To an admiring Bog!

    Emily Dickinson

Like how many times have you ever thought of being a Nobody in this world?
Surely enough, when every little friends of yours has already embarked on a remarkable journey as in found a job, getting newborn babies, rides a Roller Coaster, shopping at Paris, or done something amazing thing you...haven't.

Interestingly, you're feeling a little 'inadequate' for these updates of your friends.
So what are you going to do regarding this? Nothing else than to wonder if you're not dream big enough or being bold to do anything. And the more you're trying to figure out the problem is, the more your thoughts of being a Nobody accumulated in your head.

Worry no more because here's the list of why becoming a Nobody is to be celebrated. And to be noted, did you know Emily Dickinson is one of the delightful people of a Nobody too. So, let's get started!

    1. There's always a bigger Somebody.
You aren't Mother Theresa are you? How about Oprah? No? Congratulations. You’re a Nobody.
    And I am me! yay!

    2. Nobody? No pressure!
This is so true contemplating that you need to update your Twitter even posting a new status on Facebook. At some point, you need to perpetuate your whole life by just being a Somebody. Or leave the social network thingy, how about when you need to leave the house...without putting on your make up or even get dress up. As the author clarified it as cheesy wait until you hear when you’re a Nobody, because you get to be you, just fabulous you.

    3. Families of Nobodies are happier.
Your family? They just want to be Somebody to you. I couldn't agree more with this one. The author just strike the point very clearly. You get the idea don't you?

    4. Time gets the final call on Somebody status.
I'd like to take the name of Charlotte Church that many people have forgotten. Don't know her but familiar with the name?
The author took the name of Picasso or Alfred Wegener since it take a while to get acquaintance of them. She also mentioned those who were famous in their day, but their names are after a long while...forgotten.

    5. Being Somebody isn’t always a good thing.
Hitler was Somebody. Be careful of what you wish for. No comment!

    6. Being Somebody is overrated.
Isn't that true? Definition of overrated; Anything that is given too much credit and hype. Far more true that being a Somebody meant your life is filled with meaningless gratifications and I quote the author; "you question everyone's motive for wanting to be friends." See what overrated means.

    7. Nobodies get to keep their own opinions.
I love this on a lot! Being a Somebody meant to keep your reputations on what people has expected you to be. If you're being kind-hearted then you have maintain the position like that. A Somebody make people believe in them as long as they keep them happy.

    8. For Nobodies, there’s nowhere to go but up.
Meaning that being a Nobody, no one will ever notice your mistakes even if it's huge until you locked up yourself from the world. Nevertheless, Somebodies who're essentially intelligent, talented are afraid to make mistakes. Isn't that perfectly true? Yep when you're a good influence people who has made a mistake and suddenly it diminished their status. I quote the author; "Nobodies enjoy the luxury of risk. After all, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain."

    9. Nobodies have more fun.
Why? Because you don't have to crack up your head by pondering how are you going to avoid little hatred, enviousness, grudges etc. When you're a Nobody people would expect least from you. Thus, you will enjoy a pleasant simple life that no Somebody could have wish for. Happy?

    10. Nobody achievements make the world go round.
The author talks about evolution in her tenth list that it came up with the brilliant solution of breaking the process into a bunch of small steps to make it more manageable. She insists that life is like that too. I would say that even if you're a Nobody, you can still make the world as a better place. We're humans after all, aren't we?

A flash in the pan is fun to watch, but the majority of progress in this world comes from the good work of Nobodies. JG

    Music = Inspirations

     Yeah right!

What would you do if you get a repeated song that kept coming in your head while you're doing some important stuff? Sometimes you get distracted by it just to know which song it is, the tunes and rhythms or even trying really hard to remember the lyrics. That's what I love about music so much. It kept me insane for a while that I actually get to think of something worthy than just a rubbish LOL

This doesn't look like rubbish to me...

I would say I can't live without music in fact everyone does not. In simple words, I love music. In fact I listen to music everyday all day long and night. Feels like my world is incomplete without music. Because all I need is simply great tunes, good lyrics, and nice rhythms to follow with.

     Keep on dancing people!

Music. Music. Music. Oh well this five letters that brings my life truly wonderful. Why? Because, music is one of my sources of inspirations. Many people these days listen to various kinds of music while doing things in their daily life. Let's see... I listen to music while I do my research and notes. I listen to music while on the subway waiting for the train to reach me. I listen to music while I eat alone (Sad face everyone!). And most times, I listen to music while I browsing through the Internet. When I listened to them, it really soothed my mood till the night. Ahhhhh...

     Is that an iPod? iPhone?

Below are the lists that I found on what music can do (at leas to me):

    1. It helps to attained my self improvement and have a better quality life.
    2. It can change my state of mind and make me feel relaxed and happy.
3.It stimulates creativity by creating channels of neurons in the brain (I need this badly!). Research has proved that music tunes the brain to higher planes of thinking.
    4. It can wake and boost up my creative genius.Click Here
    5. If you could just not let me do the thinking alone... people?

I've never really get the chance to do like that

Anyway, music is now accessible through many means of network online or offline. I can buy CD's or DVD's or I just logged on to many available websites to upload varieties of music I like. I don't need to tell you what are these networks are because they're plenty of legal ones.

Currently I'm listening to this song by Katy Perry of Firework.
See the clip in here Firework
